What are Industrial robots?

History of industrial robotics:
The history of industrial robots goes back to the 1930s. In the year 1937, Bill Griffith P. Taylor completed the first industrial robot which conformed to the ISO standards. In the late ’70s, people started focusing more on robotics. It was during this time that many US companies ventured into this field.
We can say that the modern age of these robots began from the 1980s and it continues till date. In 1981 Takeo Kanade came up with the first robotic arm which had better accuracy and speed as compared to the earlier versions of industrial robots.
In 1988 Yaskawa America Inc came up with Motorman ERC control system which controlled 12 axes. In 1994 Motorman ERC control system was upgraded to support 21 axes. In 2008 the first collaborative robot was installed.
